Hints
-
Streaks: There are two kinds of streaks, good and bad. Every time something good happend to you, thee is a chance of getting on a good streak. The same applies with bad. The only way to get off a streak is if you (A) Do something REEEEEALY stupid, such as run out of fuel, or (B) Run into someone and help/not help them.
-
Streaks, Part II: There are some people, such as The Wobbler, who will ask you to sponsor them, so they can perform a show. If you are on a good streak, it will probably be a sucess, and you will make money. If you are on a bad streak, it will probably fail, and you will lose money.
-
Evil People: There are some people, such as Scotter Jay, who are EEEVIL!!!!!! These include sabatogers, spies, pregnant flies who want you to dump all of your waste stuff on the nearest planet, etc. NEVER, and I repeat, NEVER deal with these people. If you do, there is a high chance that you will be caught by the space police, and you will have to pay mega moolah.
-
Warehouses: These are okay, but don't rely too heavily on them. Usually, only use them if something floods the market, and is, like, SOOOOOOOOOOO cheap. Watch out, though, because they burn a lot.
-
Upgraded Ships: There are times when you will either be asked to bid on or buy an upgrade your ship. If you are really rich, you may be able to afford these. Positives: You can carry more people, more cargo, and more fuel. Your market strength is also higher. Negitives: You have to hire more workers, pay more to fill up your tank, and pay increased passenger tax.
-
Facilities: It is a good idea to buy facilities, so that other companies must pay you money whenever they travel to a certain planet. After a while, they will end up paying for themselves. In the shareware version, though, it is not such a big deal, as the game only lasts 25 turns, or until someone reaches 500,000 kubars.
-
Banks: A good way to make more cash is by depositing all of your money in the bank, after you have done everything you want to do with it for the turn. You can always withdraw it during your next turn. Also, if you get mugged, you will not have money stolen, as it is all in the bank.
The Settings I Use When I Play Gazillionaire*
You know, like advice from a pro (yeah, right) or something
When I play Gazillionaire, I name myself either Gogeex and Suns (get it?) or Gazillionaire.com (when I am getting stuff for my site, this one) and use the ship Cerebellus. I advertise with fliers and fill up gas once the tank is about half-full (or half-empty). I also ALWAYS use the "Banks" hint (unless I forget). That's about all I do on my games that isn't always suggested.
Well, we have now reached the end of the Tips and Tricks page. Don't forget,if you have info, e-mail it to gogeex@gmail.com.
*Yes, I HAVE won the shareware version. I have not played the real version long enough to finish it, though.
